Got a CEL today.

Symptoms:

-Car hesitating when starting, almost like its struggling to start.

-Horn almost sounds like its not as loud, like when I am locking it.

-Air condition was cutting out everytime I'd step on the gas. I'm not talking about flooring it, I'm talking about anytime I hit the gas it cuts out. Very strange.

Also, when I try to pull the code with my AP it does not work. It just kicks me back into the menu where it says READ CODE or CLEAR CODES.

Not sure what the deal is.

sounds electrical... check your battery, do a voltage test, and a load test (if you can)

you be amazed what a failing battery can do to an electrical system

if it checks out, see how your alternator is doing since it is what your car runs off of (not the battery, it is mostly for starting)

For sure thanks guys. Now to find an autozone to test my battery near where I live now...lol.

And yeah, as far as maps - I've been running this one for about 2 weeks now.

Bell Rd and cactus or cave creek has pretty much the only 24 hour autozone left in the city.

So I'm babysitting Jon's car for the weekend, and took it down to the dealership today. Yep, its the alternator. Ordered a new one. Although he'll probably need a new battery by the end of the week as the alternator is toast.

good thing it was caught early, last thing you want it for it to spike and vaporize the ecu
